Unfortunately, Death has not had ...。18世纪中叶，日不落帝国英吉利将触角伸向古老的中国，并通过大量输入鸦片来掠夺钱财。白银大量流向国外，中国人民却被鸦片毒害得愈加羸弱。在清廷内部，以穆扎阿为首的投降派和以林则徐为首的抵抗派针锋相对，斗争激烈。道光皇帝眼见天朝因鸦片所害渐渐羸弱，因而大力支持林则徐的禁烟政策，并任命其为钦差大臣前往广州查禁鸦片。林则徐来到广州后雷厉风行，令行禁止，让一度轻视他的英国鸦片商人大为惊恐。经过一段时间的治理，当地海防得到整顿，英商也被迫交出鸦片。最终，林则徐在虎门销毁两万多箱鸦片，取得禁烟的重大胜利。然而，不堪受挫的英国随即挑起鸦片战争，朝廷内部的投降派也不失时机广进谗言，林则徐的改革之路顿陷困境……。
