In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power. Eva Näripe。讲述一对夫妻因其幼小的孩子死去，十分伤心，婚姻也出现裂痕，妻子把一个假娃娃养在家里，还请了保姆，家中却发生了神秘的事：找来的小保姆也把这个孩子当成活的婴儿一般对待，更多怪事发生……到底该信故事的哪一个版本？。程纬（周润发饰）是前途无量的大学毕业生，进入公司后，能力颇佳的他深得大老板的赏识，更与老板的女儿方希文（郑裕玲饰）之间产生了真挚的感情，渐渐走到一起。然而程纬的母亲深陷赌瘾之中无法自拔，欠下巨额赌债，为了帮助母亲还债，程纬不得不动了挪用公款的心思。 程纬的行径被一直眼红他的阮其昌（李道洪饰）揭发了，最终，程纬为自己的行为付出了代价，锒铛入狱，他和方希文之间的感情也就此走到了尽头。在狱中，本性善良的程纬很快就交到了朋友，其中就有曾经的黑帮头目龙冠。出狱后，在龙冠的介绍之下，程纬进入了一家珠宝公司工作，人生重新走上了正轨。。
